Jamnalal Bajaj
Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai was founded in 1965. The institute is one of the top management institutes of
India.
The institute was founded by the University of Mumbai (Bombay) in
collaboration with the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, with a
donation from Jamnalal Bajaj Seva Trust.
The institute was started with a view to promote post
graduate education in India. The institution has been ranked amongst Asia's Top
25 business schools, by 'Asia Inc'.
The institute proximity to Nariman Point, commercial hub of
India, gives it an added advantage. JBIMS has provided full-time faculty in the
core management disciplines and the functional areas of management, with a
panel of eminent management experts and senior practising managers, from
diverse fields of management.
The Institute has, without disturbing the said roots,
ordered itself to meet the emerging challenges, sentiments and opportunities
that are going to present themselves on account of the new economic order.
The Institute has full-time faculty in the core management

fields of management.
Vision:
The vision that has inspired the basic philosophy and
approach of JBIMS since its inception is that of management thinkers and
philosophers deeply entrenched and firmly rooted in the Indian soil. A 2-year
full-time MMS program was thus launched with a view to develop competent high
caliber management thinkers and practitioners for efficient running of Indian
business and industry. The Institute believes that proper managerial
perspective, search of excellence and efficient managerial action is possible
by a person with managerial potential developed into a highly resourceful,
enriched and stimulating mind through knowledge, skills and attitudes provided
in the MMS course.

Masters in Management Studies (MMS):
MMS is the flagship course of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of
Management Studies (JBIMS), conducted as a university department of University
of Mumbai. It is a two year full time post graduate degree course in
management. Started as early as 1965, the course has been modified continually
and appropriately to suit the contemporary corporate world needs and has been
able to nurture prominent leaders of the same. The institute offers various
specializations like Finance, Marketing, Personnel, Operations and Systems in
the second year of the course.
Eligibility-
- Candidate must have passed 10th with atleast 65% aggregate marks and 12th with atleast 60% aggregate marks and 5% relaxation in case of candidates of backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra state only
- Final year students can also apply on provisional basis
- Must have valid CAT/ MH-CET score
Admission Procedure-
- Admissions are on the basis of MH-CET/CAT followed by group discussion, personal interview, written ability testFor all NRI, Foreign national and PIO applicants, GMAT is a mandatory examFor foreign nationals, residing outside India, interviews will be conducted over SkypeA candidate will be admitted based on the combined scores of this personal assessment along with their past academic and extra-curricular achievement
- Other criterion are group activity score, written ability test score followed by marks at HSC and SSC or equivalent
